That's not a good idea. The Wii U touchpad and a switch touch screen work differently. Since the Wii U touchpad is pressure sensitive the stylus is meant to work with that one. If you use it on a switch you might end up damaging your screen.

I am assuming this was intentional. The game was de-listed, may not be backwards compatible, and 360 does not have a list for purchased digital content as far as I can recall. They might have put it up to a price nobody will pay to allow people to download the episodes they purchased for a limited time.

Didn't get to play it myself since it was still in alpha, but I saw a 20~-minute live (purportedly) demonstration.

Getting the negative opinions out of the way first; it didn't really look like anything special overall. It reminded me off those generic superhero movie tie-in action games. The heroes go from area to area in a linear fashion beating up waves of badguys, and with the exception of some quick time events, there didn't seem to be much else to it. I felt like it could get monotonous very quickly. Since I didn't play it, I couldn't say for sure how much it might actually be fun to play, but it was disappointing to see only minor variations in how each hero played. Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor looked like they had very similar "punch punch punch" combo moves, with only their special moves being notably different. Hulk and Black Widow didn't really break the mold either, although Hulk's more violent, "girthy" gameplay and BW's use of guns helped them stand out more. Then, of course, the other problem is how the heroes are presented. While there's nothing wrong with their appearance and the voice acting by itself, because the game otherwise looks so similar to the MCU movies, the dissonance between the movie voices and appearance compared to the game's is just very distracting.

On the plus side, even in alpha the game looked great. It was definitely going for a modern action video game style, like Uncharted, where it tries to make the gameplay look like scenes from a blockbuster movie. There were some genuinely exciting setpieces in it, one where Iron Man flies through a collapsing exploding bridge with missiles being fired around him, Hulk bashing his way through the bridge, knocking trucks and tanks out of the way, and a sequence where Black Widow flies around while grappling and fighting Taskmaster with the other heroes fighting around her. The boss battle against Taskmaster looked kind of fun too, with him using a variety of different moves and traps that needed to be worked around. The most interesting thing about the gameplay (albeit not saying much) is the use of subtle visual circles to denote when enemies are attacking or the area of effect their attacks will have, which could be neat way making the fighting exciting but fair if done right.

The presenters mentioned there would much more to the game than just the story mode, saying there would be online play and the ability to recruit and play as more heroes. So it's possible the more generic gameplay could just be a way of allowing for a large variety of characters. Overall, in my opinion, while the game looks impressive, I'm more cautiously optimistic about how it will turn out. I worry it could just be a forgettable action game like so many other superhero games, but if handled right it could end up being a very fun way to indulge in superhero fantasies and play like an interactive Avengers movie.

Yeah, unfortunately I couldn't hear the BGM very well at all. Even with headphones, the noise in the area was too much. The BGM for the reactor core was clearly a new version of the original theme*, and I think the regular battle music was the standard theme. The boss music sounded excellent, and it seemed like it was a remix of the old boss theme from what I could tell, but it was even harder to hear any of the battle music thanks to all the explosions, attack, and menu noises going on.

Oh man, this game looked pretty cool, and I already loved the original, but this demo was pretty amazing.

It wasn't a big portion; just the reactor core and a boss fight against the Guard Scorpion, but it was still a great way to show off the game. The graphics are amazing, although I couldn't hear much of the music. The voice acting was solid, with the actors delivering the memorable lines keeping things feeling familiar while still updating it.

The battle system is really curious, but it definitely caught my attention. While it looks like an action game, it reminded me a lot of Xenoblade. You have free movement, but you don't move as fast as, say, Kingdom Hearts. You can guard, do dodge moves, and move out of the range to avoid attacks, but (at least in the demo) you aren't harshly penalized for not doing so. You could just stand and tank all the attacks, you'd just need to waste more time healing.

You had a standard attack to use in battle. Cloud had a three hit close range combo, while Barret could hold the button down for a multihitting ranged attack ( you are able to switch out characters on the fly at any moment). When you dealt damage you built up an ATB gauge that consisted of two bars. You could press X to slow down time and bring up a menu to spend ATB bars to perform actions. There were strong attacks (that each had different properties and ranges. Cloud had a strong attack, a multihit stagger, and an attack that hit everyone surrounding him. Barret had a defense buff, a stagger move, and a power shot), magic (you still have MP meters) and items (which could be freely used outside of combat). You could also use your Limit when you took enough damage, which was more of a cutscene type super move. This made things feel more like a turn based game, and the meter built fast enough, but you also had to aware of when you used a move. They could miss if you weren't in the right range, and your attack could be canceled if you got hit in the middle of the animation. There was also a stagger mechanic, where if you dealt enough damage or used certain moves you'd build up a meter that toppled the enemy when it maxed out, increasing damage you dealt while it was knocked down. This added a lot of strategy in how you approached the battle.

The boss fight was amazing and much more expanded from the original. There are multiple setpieces to it that weren't in the original. The Scorpion jumps and lands across the arena making you reposition yourself, it crawls along the walls forcing you to use magic to reach, and it could use its tail laser, requiring you to find cover using debris around the battle field to avoid. Partway through the battle it deploys a barrier, so you have to target it from behind to disable it. It also used a regenerative module at one point, and had a segment where you had to target its legs to knock it over. All in all it consisted of around five phases and took a considerable amount of time to beat. And this is from the tutorial boss! It makes me really excited to see what the rest of the game will be like.

Just from that small portion I'm incredibly hyped. It always looked wonderful, but the gameplay actually holds up. I'm officially on board with it 100%.

I think it's always a year early, like other sports games.

It's not like they lose anything out of releasing it early. They can still keep it on shelves when the Olympics rolls around and people will still buy it then. Smart idea to shoot for an early release anyway, in case of delays.
